Contour/Texture Composition Drawing
Contour/Texture
Composition Drawing
We were to draw the
outline of two real people doing something from a magazine, book, internet,
etc. Then we were to shade in a texture from anything. Like a leaf, grill, and
tiles for example. What I tried to do with my drawing was to bring the two
people facing off each other stand out. I used the grill of my fan to do that
and I shaded the outside of the people. I didn’t want to ruin the two people facing
off so I thought of a texture that when I shaded in the two people will be
standing out. So I thought of the screen door. The screen door worked and made the
two people facing off stand out.
Pos/Neg "Don't draw the Bird"
We were not to draw the bird on the picture, but the shapes around it. This drawing was easy because the shapes were not that hard to draw. what was interesting when i finished the outline of the shapes i could see the bird. after that we were to shade in the shapes that we drew instead of the bird.
cross hatching seated boy
Cross hatching seated boy
We were to draw the outline of the seated boy and then use a
technique called crosshatching to create value change. Crosshatching is a
method used by artists to build various layers of value by overlapping lines.
This drawing was kind of challenging to me because it was my first time using
this technique in drawing and just had to get used to it.
mask
Mask
We were making a sculpture of a mask. This assignment also
needed time and patience. The thing like about this assignment is if you made a
mistake you could start over just like a drawing. This is also one of my favorite
assignments. What was interesting was when I made the mask and fired it, it didn’t
come out the way it supposed to, but when I started to paint it and add some
detail to it I was happy with the outcome. This is also is something that shouldn’t
be rushed and this assignment relieved some stress from my other classes. I wanted to do the jiggle saw mask from saw because i wanted to use this as a decoration for Halloween.

print making
Print making
For this art assignment
we were to carve a drawing that we made on a lino block. We were to carve into
the block so that those parts don’t get printed and the parts that were uncut
is the part were it would get printed. This assignment was not to be rushed
because you didn’t want to make any mistakes and you really have to patience for
this assignment. I enjoyed doing this assignment because this helped as a
stress reliever and it help me from not being bored. I did a portrait of Jesus
and an angel because family is catholic and I wanted to print something for
them to hang on a frame in the house. I
also wanted a challenge. I didn’t want to do something simple. Advice for this assignment
is DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE ITS DUE! It’s not easy
